On Tuesday 6 October, as part of their Salon series, Toronto Public Library is asking four leading cultural voices to imagine what could be one of Canada’s most significant cultural institutions yet to be built. They will consider what a Canadian portrait gallery might look like and what stories it could tell about the nation and its people.
Bringing his experience as architect of London’s National Portrait Gallery to his home nation, Jamie is joined by celebrated Indigenous curator and historian Tim Johnson and writer and activist Sarah Lazarovic, together with moderator Gail Lord for a wide-ranging conversation about what such an institution could mean for Canada.
