The Project
One of our flagship Versace boutiques is in the beautiful nineteenth-century Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This elegant neo-Classical arcade is Italy’s oldest active shopping location, filled with intricate plaster carvings and topped with an iron and glass domed roof.
For our boutique interior, the beautiful historic parquet floor was repaired and fixtures in marble, brass and perspex were designed to sit within the space, causing minimal damage to the historic fabric. The result is a calm, elegant space, with tactile materiality and a sense of affinity between the contemporary pieces and their historic context.
Histroric Fabric
As part of the project, Versace restored the historic arcade, employing specialist conservation contractors to painstakingly repair damaged plasterwork.
